The most powerful weapon you have is the ability to ask questions. You can pray, fast, intercede, go to church, sing Jesus Culture, lift your hands, cry at altars, read a bible, memorize scripture, and obey the law all you want–I did for years–and issues still only get worse.

Transformation doesn’t come from any of the above, it comes from changing the way you think (Romans 12:2). Change comes as a result of getting answers, and answers come as a result of asking questions. Think about it, how can you receive an answer to a question you’ve never asked? You wouldn’t understand the answer, no matter how it was presented to you.

“Abraham Lincoln.”

Okay. What question does that answer?

Who was the 22nd President?

Which President hunted vampires?

Who did John Wilkes Booth assassinate in a theater?

Who is the husband of Mary Todd?

Obviously, it is the answer to all of those things, but imagine I charge into a room shouting “Abraham Lincoln!” People will be very confused as to what I’m doing. They will probably wonder if I’m crazy while I tell all my friends they are the crazy ones for not listening to the amazing answer I am offering them!

Oops! That sounds familiar: those crazy religious Christians who don’t heed our gospel answers!

When I need a “spiritual” answer, I ask myself a “spiritual” question, because guess who lives in me? Holy Spirit. Guess who’s mind I have? The mind of Christ. Contrary to what we all say, we DO have ALL of the answers, we just haven’t asked the questions that bring those answers to life
